The Best Claude Connectors (and ChatGPT Apps) for Creative Work
Claude's connector directory now has more than a thousand entries, and most of them are for business software. These are the ones that matter if you make things: 3D, images, design, video and music, with what each actually does and what it needs.
Short answer
The best creative Claude connectors are 3D AI Studio for 3D models and AI images, Adobe for creativity for photo and video editing, Canva for graphics and slides, Figma for UI and diagrams, and the Blender, SketchUp and Autodesk Fusion connectors for driving 3D software.
Directory connectors are added with one click under Settings, Connectors. Others, such as 3D AI Studio, are added as a custom connector by pasting a URL. Most of these services also exist as ChatGPT apps, which ChatGPT now calls Plugins.

What are Claude connectors, exactly?
A connector gives Claude tools from another service: search your Canva designs, edit a photo in Photoshop, generate a 3D model. Under the hood each one is a Model Context Protocol server. Claude reads the list of tools, and calls them when your request needs one.
There are two ways to add one, and it matters which you are dealing with:
- Directory connectors are listed in Claude's connector directory. Anthropic reviews them, some carry an "Anthropic verified" label, and Claude can suggest them in a chat when they fit.
- Custom connectors are any other remote MCP server. You paste the URL under Settings, Connectors, Add custom connector. They run on the same infrastructure; the difference is who vouches for them.
A few connectors, like Blender and Fusion, also need software running on your computer. The rest are remote services, so they work on the web, in the desktop app and on your phone.
Which Claude connectors are best for creative work?

Which of these work as ChatGPT apps?
Most of the big names exist on both sides. In July 2026 ChatGPT renamed its App Directory to Plugins; a plugin can contain one or more apps. You call one by typing @ and its name, or from the + menu. Anything not in the directory can still be added as a custom connector in developer mode.

ChatGPT moves these menus around often. If the labels do not match, look for Connectors, Apps, Plugins or Developer mode in Settings, or ask ChatGPT where to add a custom MCP connector.
Which connectors should you add for your kind of work?
Three to five connectors is the sweet spot. Pick a set that matches what you make:
Game developer
3D AI Studio for characters, props, icons and sound effects, Blender for scene work, and Figma for UI. In Claude Code, add your engine's MCP server too.
3D printing maker
3D AI Studio for figurines and gifts (ask for STL or 3MF at a set height), and Fusion if you also design functional parts.
Designer or marketer
Canva for layouts, Adobe for photo work, Brandfetch to stay on-brand, and 3D AI Studio when a campaign needs a product render or a 3D asset.
Architect or interior designer
SketchUp for massing and furniture, 3D AI Studio for decor and props that are tedious to model, and Adobe for presentation boards.
Video creator
Descript for editing, Adobe for Premiere and Firefly, and 3D AI Studio for thumbnails, 3D objects and sound effects.
Musician
Splice for samples, Ableton for help with Live and Push, and 3D AI Studio if you want cover art or a 3D visual for a release.
How do you add a connector to Claude?
From the directory
Open Settings, then Connectors, and browse or search. Click Connect and sign in to the service. On Team and Enterprise plans an owner adds the connector for the organisation first, and members then connect their own accounts.
As a custom connector
Click Add custom connector, give it a name and paste the server URL. For 3D AI Studio that is https://mcp.3daistudio.com/mcp. Click Connect, sign in on the page that opens, and authorise. In a new chat, ask for something by name: "use 3D AI Studio to make a 3D model of my dog".

Check what it can do
Claude shows each connector's tools. Read them once. Anthropic's own note says it cannot verify what third-party tools do, so trust the maker, not the listing.
Fewer is better
Every connector adds tool descriptions that Claude has to read. With too many similar tools it picks the wrong one more often. Switch off what you are not using.
Watch write access
Connectors that can edit files, send messages or spend credits deserve more care than read-only ones. Claude asks before many actions; read those prompts.
Use your own accounts
Connectors sign in as you. Do not connect a work account to a personal Claude, or the other way round, unless your organisation allows it.

The connectors themselves cost nothing extra from Anthropic, but availability depends on your Claude plan, and the service behind a connector may need its own account or subscription. Fusion needs a Fusion subscription, Adobe's paid features need an Adobe plan, and 3D AI Studio uses your 3D AI Studio credits, with a free plan to try it.
Do Claude connectors work on mobile?
Remote connectors that you add on the web also work in Claude's mobile apps. Connectors that need software on your computer, such as Blender or Fusion, only work where that software runs.
What is the difference between ChatGPT apps and Claude connectors?
Both are built on MCP, and many services offer both. In ChatGPT, directory apps live under Plugins (called Apps until July 2026) and you call them with @ and the name. Servers that are not in the directory are added as custom connectors in developer mode. In Claude, directory connectors and custom connectors both live under Settings, Connectors.
Is there a Claude connector for 3D models?
