The GLB compressor can reduce file sizes by up to 90% using a combination of Draco geometry compression and texture optimization. Typical results range from 50% to 90% reduction depending on the model. Textures often account for most of the file size, so texture compression (WebP, JPEG, or KTX2) provides the largest savings.

With default balanced settings, the visual difference is minimal. The tool offers presets ranging from Minimal (preserves maximum quality) to Maximum (smallest file size). You can also fine-tune advanced settings like quantization bits, texture quality, and geometry simplification to find the right balance between file size and visual fidelity for your specific use case.

The compressor uses Draco compression for geometry (vertices, normals, UVs) and texture recompression (WebP, JPEG, or KTX2 formats) for image data. Additional options include geometry simplification, vertex welding to remove duplicates, configurable maximum texture size, and the ability to strip animations for static assets. All processing runs in your browser with no server upload required.

The tool accepts GLB files as input and outputs compressed GLB files. If your model is in another format like OBJ, FBX, or GLTF, convert it to GLB first. You can also load models directly from a URL.
