Behind the scenes

How this template works

The pet figurine uses the same two tools as the photo figurine, with a prompt tuned for animals: the coat pattern, fur colours and markings of your pet are locked in place, and the full body is reconstructed even from a close-up.

  1. 1
    Step 1 · Image Studio

    Prepare your photo

Image Studio receives your photos plus a prompt that keeps your pet's exact coat pattern (every patch, stripe and spot where it really is), eye colour and proportions, restyles the fur in the chosen look, sits your pet on a round base and isolates it on white.

    Step 2 · Image to 3D

    Build the 3D model

Image to 3D (Prism 3.1) builds the 3D model from that render with Fast textures and Standard mesh quality.

Tips for the best result

  • A photo at the pet's eye level gives the best likeness.
  • Make sure the face and markings are clearly visible.
  • Several photos from different angles help with fluffy breeds.

Do it yourself for more control

  • Try a different pose in the Image Studio prompt, like lying down or holding a toy.
  • Use Detailed textures for fur-heavy breeds.
  • Use Add Base to add a name plate, then Print Repair before slicing.

Good to know

Very fluffy fur is simplified into sculpted shapes so it stays printable.

Chat brief · Pet Figurine
Use the 3D AI Studio MCP to run the "Pet Figurine" template (https://www.3daistudio.com/templates/custom-pet-figurine) for me.

My photo(s): I'll hand them over when you call upload_image.
Style: Stylized
Pose: Sitting
Costume: No costume

Follow these steps in order. The prompts and settings are the template's own, so use them word for word.

1. Get my photos
Call upload_image with purpose "Photo for the Pet Figurine template" so I can hand them over (images attached in the chat don't reach the MCP). I can upload up to 5 photos of the same subject; use all of them.

2. Prepare my photo
Call edit_image_gpt with my uploaded photo(s) in images, quality "low", output_format "png" and this prompt:
"""
The reference photo(s) show one animal; that animal is the subject. Keep this individual animal instantly recognisable: same coat pattern and fur colours, eye colour, ear shape, face, tail, species and breed. Its coat pattern is what makes it this animal and not just any of its breed: every patch, stripe, spot, mask, blaze and white sock stays exactly where it is in the photo(s), with the same size, shape and colour, including marks on only one side (for example a white patch around one eye only, or one dark ear). Keep the real fur colours and how much of the coat each one covers. Never mirror, move, merge, add or remove a marking, and never replace the pattern with one that is typical for the breed. If several photos show different sides of the animal, take each side's markings from the photo that shows that side. Its real proportions do NOT carry over: head size, body and legs follow the style below exactly. Do NOT copy the animal's head from the photo: re-create the head, fur and eyes in exactly the same style, material and finish as the rest of the figure, with no photographic fur texture and no seam at the neck. Restyling changes the fur's texture, never its pattern: the markings are painted onto the restyled fur in their exact places. If several photos are provided they all show the same subject from different angles or moments: merge them into ONE consistent figure and pick the clearest features. The photos may be cropped or show only the face or upper body: reconstruct the COMPLETE body anyway, from the top of the head to the feet or paws, including legs, feet, shoes, tail and all limbs, complete and believable at the proportions of the requested style, matching everything visible. Never crop, cut off or hide any part of the body, never show a bust or half figure, and do not leave anything outside the frame. Style: a premium designer vinyl collectible toy of the animal. Proportions: a big rounded head about one third of the total height, a compact rounded body, short sturdy legs and slightly oversized paws. The fur is simplified into a few soft, rounded sculpted shapes with no individual hairs, and the coat pattern is painted onto those shapes as clean flat areas of colour with crisp edges, every marking in its real place, shape and colour. Face: simple painted eyes in the animal's real eye colour with a small painted white highlight, a small simple nose and a friendly expression. The animal's real coat colours, clean and only slightly saturated, smooth matte vinyl finish. Base: a plain round matte white base. Pose: sitting, head slightly tilted, curious expression. Transform the subject into a single collectible figurine: the entire figure visible from head to toe with generous empty margin above the head and below the base, standing upright on a small, plain, round, flat base, perfectly centered, facing the camera straight-on in a frontal full-body view, with balanced margins on all sides and nothing cropped. Chunky, sturdy proportions with no thin fragile parts. Even, soft studio lighting with no harsh shadows. Isolate cleanly on a flat, seamless, pure white (#FFFFFF) studio background: no other objects, people, props, text, logos or shadows on the background, and clean accurate edges without halos. A sharp, clean product render of the physical figure. Most important: the whole figure, head and face included, is unmistakably in the stylized look described above, as one consistent physical object, with no photographic part. Before finishing, compare the coat with the photo(s): every marking of the real animal is there, in the same place and shape and in the same colours, and none is added, mirrored or moved. Light and surfaces: soft, even, diffuse studio light from the front, and at most a soft satin sheen: no mirror-like gloss, no bright white hot spots or glare, and no reflections of lights, windows or surroundings.

3. Build the 3D model
Call generate_prism_3_1 with the task_id of the image from step 2 in images, texture_model "3.5", texture_quality "fast", geometry_quality "standard", pbr false, lighting_removal false.

4. Export
Export it for printing: call convert_model on the 3D model with output_format "3mf" (or "stl" if I ask for it), plus max_size and unit "cm" if I gave you a print size.

After each generation call, keep polling get_generation with its task_id until it completes, then show me the result with show_generation before you start the next step.

Or automate it with the API

The same tools are available through the 3D AI Studio API. Call them from your own code to make hundreds at once, build them into your app or run them in your pipeline.
