The Challenge
With more than one hundred magical artifacts planned, a team composed mostly of C++ programmers and a single 3D artist faced an impossible timeline. Traditional modelling required four to six hours per prop, followed by texture passes and style tweaks.
Solution & Workflow
The studio relies on Image to 3D almost exclusively. Concept sketches are polished in 2D AI tools, then sent to 3D AI Studio, which produces a textured GLB in under two minutes. The model is imported into Unreal Engine, where a Material Instance adjusts saturation, metallic and roughness to fit the game’s painterly art style.
Previously each asset consumed four to six hours of modelling and up to four hours of texturing. With 3D AI Studio the team now creates six to eight artifacts per day. The sole 3D artist focuses on polish while programmers stay in code.
CEO Sławomir Grabowski reports that junior developers needed less than a day to ship their first production-ready prop. The team is exploring deeper Unreal integration for batch imports.
